This role requires key competences in building the revenue modeling and analytic process of the Commercial Finance team. Incumbent candidate will have a close collaboration with Finance Operation and Corporate Finance (FP&A) and a thorough understanding of Gross-to-Net (GTN) is required. The position requires a person that is analytical and has a holistic view of downstream implications to pricing and contracting strategy.

Key Responsibilities - details

• Drives and implement overall strategies with net revenue reporting across all product lines; builds organizational GTN capabilities from pre-launch, launch and steady state
• Partner with US Commercial team to establish a best-in-class data management and gtn/pricing capability that drives commercial success while advising to realize effective pricing and increase net revenue in partnership with 3PL, Trade Operations & Pricing, Contracting and Distribution teams
• Holistic view of pharma pricing value creation including list pricing, pack / price architecture, government reporting, SKU mix management, discounting (including co-pay programs), rebate claims processing, specialty pharmacies and distributor partnership terms and contracts
• Build and embed frameworks, competencies, and methodologies for pipeline (inventory) and demand GTN accruals across the Ascendis portfolio of products including new channels, rebate line items in partnership with Financial Operations and Group Accounting teams
• Develop tools to support analytics, KPI reporting to track progress, forecasting and overall business performance management through the Monthly Business Review (MBR)
• Entrench analytic approaches into Ascendis' decision-making and planning processes including forecasting and S&OP, and business planning
• Engage and manage internal and 3rd party resources to achieve the above tasks
• Other responsibilities and projects as assigned by the Head of Commercial Finance

Requirements

• 5+ years of related experience with a bachelors or masters degree in Business/Economics /Accounting or related field of study
• Strong working knowledge of relevant accounting principles and their implications on Gross to Net calculations and reporting
• Experience within the Pharma/biotech industry and commercial product required.
• Experience with IFRS or US GAAP, with a detailed understanding of accounting methods, reporting, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and revenue recognition, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX regulations
• Strong analytical, proactive problem-solving skills, and collaboration skills critical to the role
• Strategic problem-solving and ability to drive creative solutions in a complex environment
• Strong leadership skills - ability to work across functions to drive to decisions and business outcomes; ability to manage a team under direct and indirect authority
• Strong communication skills with the ability to set-up and facilitate, at times, difficult discussions
• Familiarity with customer (Specialty Pharma and specialty distributors) and product segmentation (SKUs) approaches
• Ability to simultaneously manage and provide leadership on multiple projects, demonstrated ability to work in high performance teams
• Ability to build collaborative working relationships with senior members of the business and finance teams
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office programs
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationally

• Salary range: $175-190K/year
