Job Description

The Revenue Cycle Analyst designs and conducts operational studies utilizing data collection, statistical analysis and evaluative techniques leading to improved efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes and systems utilized in Revenue Cycle related functions. The Revenue Cycle Analyst performs special projects, including many phases of system implementation. Serves as a member of the primary liaison group between Revenue Cycle and Information Systems (IS) for enhancement development. This position has collaborative relationships with Patient Financial Services, Health Information Management, Clinical Departments and Compliance. The Revenue Cycle Analyst is responsible for data reports and other department requests. Conducts audits, and provides feedback with recommendations for solutions to management and departments, as well as to outside agencies with whom we interact. Under minimal supervision, provides operational leadership in project management discipline for system application implementations and other organizational projects.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Information Services, Business, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of three years in hospital revenue cycle (patient access, patient financial services, finance) and / or three years revenue cycle trending/metrics experience
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, State and third-party insurance reimbursement preferred
  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret simple financial and statistical data
  • Proficient desktop skills with Microsoft Office applications (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, Visio),
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and critical thinking skill
  • Organizational skills with a focus on time sensitive management
  • Ability to communicate effectively across operational areas
  • Knowledge of hospital and clinical healthcare delivery
  • Prior experience with Epic Systems Revenue Cycle solutions preferred
