The Role:   

The Revenue Cycle Manager plays a critical role in the daily billing operations and developing best in class revenue cycle processes and procedures.  Responsibilities include owning the daily billing operations, reviewing and submitting claims to payers, denial management, and insurance and patient recovery.  This new role will have the opportunity to own the process to scale with our growth.

Responsibilities:  

  • Preparing and submitting medical claims and associated billing data
  • Chart scrub current claims to ensure correct CPT codes, insurance IDs and chart accuracy 
  • Manage patient medical information is accurate including referrals and pre-authorizations
  • Assist patients with any questions and managing payments
  • Manage accounts receivable for insurance companies as well as patient responsibility
  • Own and manage all aspects of Athena billing system including rate changes, cash collections, and reconciliations
  • Report on contracted and non-contracted payer remittance trends
  • Review denied claims and collaborating with payer contracting manager to resolve 
  • Analyze, assess and restructure current revenue cycle process to be in line with best practices

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business Management, Finance, Healthcare Administration) required or equivalent experience
  • Minimum experience 2 years required, 4 years preferred, in revenue cycle management including billing and collections
  • Strong understanding of payer fee schedules (Fee for Service, Value Based) and billing requirements specifically with Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans
  • Worked in Athena billing and third party partners required
  • Experience working directly with patients on collections and billing issues
  • Ability to meet and comply with HIPAA/Confidentiality policies and handle privileged information in a discreet and confidential manner
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing regulations

Pay Range Details 

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. 

Role: Range is $90,000 - $110,000 (DOE)
