Revenue Specialist (Portland, OR Hybrid)
Job Description
M Financial Group is in search of their next Revenue Specialist. This position will work closely with our Accounting Team to assist with the monthly close and process cash receipts, commissions and fees revenue.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and record daily cash receipts for M Financial entities and effectively summarize and communicate key information to management
- Perform commissions & fees revenue processing for various M Financial subsidiary entities
- Assist with completing monthly financial close processing, including preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts
- Provide backup for accounts receivable processing, including invoicing, statement generation, payment application and aged receivables analysis
- Prepare supporting schedules and work effectively with external auditors during interim and year-end financial statement audits
- Work with Internal Audit Team and other Accounting Team members to document and test internal control procedures
- Assist with annual corporate insurance renewals
- Perform various financial analyses, develop ad hoc reports and communicate information effectively
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, and assist with implementation of these improvements
- Provide outstanding customer service through timely and effective follow-ups and communications with internal and external customers
- Serve as project manager and project team member on various Accounting Team projects
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, or business with emphasis in accounting, strongly preferred; or, some college and a minimum of three years of related accounting experience, with demonstrated ability to progressively assume increased responsibility
- Well-developed computer skills with proficiencies in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines and provide outstanding customer service
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative, drive, orientation to goal accomplishment, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to prioritize and communicate status of multiple projects; excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to follow through on projects to completion
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to be flexible and work with changing requirements and priorities
- Detail-oriented, proactive, self-motivated, and responsible
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Accounting Team members, other M Financial staff, Member Firms and external parties
JOB CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
- In Portland, Hybrid work environment offering a blend of virtual/work from home and onsite days designed to support flexibility. In Dallas, will be temporarily remote, moving to fully onsite with new building location coming soon.
- Normal office environment/desk assignment
- Extensive use of PC's, computer terminal, display, keyboard, and mouse
- Extensive hands-on work with documents, spreadsheets, and other written documents
