RF Hardware Development Engineer

We are looking for an RF Hardware Development Engineer to work in our engineering team supporting our wireless and RF test product ranges. We're developing test equipment that emulates networks of thousands of mobile devices to support the latest 5G advanced and 6G technologies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•System and circuit level RF design to 18GHz and above, including transmitters, receivers, frequency synthesizers and RF instrumentation

•System and circuit level design of supporting analogue circuits for baseband processing, power distribution, data conversion etc.

•Analysis and electromagnetic simulation of planar and 3D structures such as filters, transitions and high-speed digital interconnects

•Analysis and specification of DSP processing chain components to support the RF performance

•Design validation and testing at the circuit, sub-system and system level

•Development of PCBs containing a large amount of RF and analogue circuitry

•Introduction and support of designs into production

•Testing and verification of newly developed hardware and firmware

•Participating in the requirements analysis and the design of a complete product

•Participating in the investigation of new technologies and techniques

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

•Degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics or an associated discipline

•Good skills in RF and analogue design, diagnostic and measurement techniques and the use of common RF test gear

•The ability to understand system level issues involving interaction with digital hardware, control software and Baseband subsystem is desirable

•Experience of 4G and 5G wireless specifications and testing is desirable

•Skills with RF circuit analysis and electromagnetic simulation software are highly desirable

•Good mathematical skills and fluency with MATLAB is desirable

•The ability to develop automated test programs would be advantageous

•Strong collaboration and team working skills, including cross-functionally, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships across all levels

•Ability to influence senior stakeholders

•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

•The ability to work within multiple and/or complex projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment •Ability to mentor and coach the same or junior levels

•Ability to solve complex issues using in depth evaluation methods and techniques

•Contributes to strategic decision-making
