JOB SUMMARY: DSoft Technology is searching for a RF/SATCOM Field Engineer with STTR system expertise. 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED. Minimum 5 years’ experience with RF/SATCOM Field Engineering. 

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

JOB TYPE: Full Time 

LOCATION: Candidate is ideally located within commuting distance of Colorado Springs, CO.

SALARY RANGE: $90K to 110K, the estimate range represents the typical salary for the position commensurate with experience, knowledge and demonstrated success in the field and other factors.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Determine STTR systems required to support a specific event as part of planning process. Prepare system transportation for deployed support. 

• Configure STTR systems at the start of event support window and operate the system through the event. 

• Participate in acquisition process on new STTR system to provide operational perspective. Activities include requirements input/review, design review, test, training, and system documentation. 

• STTR System expertise. Learn engineering details of STTR systems supporting the system configuration for event support, troubleshooting, and training. 

• Logistics support in inventory and management of STTR assets. 

• Support training of new range personnel. 

• Provides supervision and mentoring of junior staff. 

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Experience with RF systems and communications across open-air, closed loop, and lab level environments. 

• Experience with setup, checkout, operating, and transportation preparation of SATCOM systems. 

• Experience with operations and maintenance for RF SATCOM systems including antenna, HPA, LNA, up/downconverter, modems, computers/networks and power including in deployed conditions. 

• Experience with troubleshooting systems and replacing failed components. 

• Experience with logistics and inventory tracking. 

• Ability to react quickly in a dynamic environment. 

• Collaborate working in a team environment of active-duty military, reservists, government civilians, and contractors. 

• Ability to communicate technical approaches and details within small project teams, including team interaction and presentation. 

• A working knowledge of Microsoft® Office software tools. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Extensive knowledge of software systems and programming languages. 

DESIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• A working knowledge of Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) satellite data networks to include the control side and distant end configurations. 

• A working knowledge of Adaptive Code Modulation (ACM) and Digital Video Broadcast - Satellite (DVB-S) standards to include traditional satellite video and data broadcast. 

• A working knowledge of Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA). 

• A working knowledge of five meter to sub one meter satellite antennas it's components and signal flow to include directional and electronically steered antennas. 

• Ability to follow company policies while installing and integrating existing and newly acquired capabilities. 

• Military experience or working in a military environment. 

• DoD Test experience. 

• Bachelor’s degree 

• Working knowledge of current DoD Space Control systems. 

• Security + certification for data transfer responsibilities. 

• Forklift Operator experience/certification. 

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
