We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing and managing risks associated with merchant underwriting and payment transactions. As a Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing various factors to ensure the financial stability and security of our organization.
What are some of the high-impact opportunities you’ll tackle?
Merchant Underwriting
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments on potential merchants by evaluating application data, third-party findings, and financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documentation as needed.
- Analyze and interpret data to assess the creditworthiness and risk profile of merchants.
- Manage and monitor automated tools and related rule sets for accuracy and effectiveness.
- Provide input to underwriting policies and procedures to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
Transaction Monitoring
- Review flagged transactions for likelihood of fraud, compliance or regulatory violations, or other potential for loss.
- Analyze transaction data and patterns to detect anomalies and irregularities.
- Maintain systems for monitoring payment transactions to identify and mitigate potential fraudulent activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to investigate and resolve flagged transactions promptly.
General Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and prioritize risks associated with merchant activities and payment transactions.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on risk assessments, transaction monitoring, and mitigation efforts.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization against financial losses.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to adjust risk management strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Legal, and Operations, to gather information and ensure a holistic approach to risk management.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on risk-related matters.
This opportunity is for you if you have / are:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience in risk analysis, underwriting, or a related field, preferably in the financial services or payment industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
