We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing and managing risks associated with merchant underwriting and payment transactions. As a Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing various factors to ensure the financial stability and security of our organization.

What are some of the high-impact opportunities you’ll tackle?

Merchant Underwriting

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments on potential merchants by evaluating application data, third-party findings, and financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documentation as needed.
  • Analyze and interpret data to assess the creditworthiness and risk profile of merchants.
  • Manage and monitor automated tools and related rule sets for accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Provide input to underwriting policies and procedures to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.


Transaction Monitoring

  • Review flagged transactions for likelihood of fraud, compliance or regulatory violations, or other potential for loss.
  • Analyze transaction data and patterns to detect anomalies and irregularities.
  • Maintain systems for monitoring payment transactions to identify and mitigate potential fraudulent activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to investigate and resolve flagged transactions promptly.

General Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, and prioritize risks associated with merchant activities and payment transactions.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on risk assessments, transaction monitoring, and mitigation efforts.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization against financial losses.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to adjust risk management strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Legal, and Operations, to gather information and ensure a holistic approach to risk management.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on risk-related matters.

This opportunity is for you if you have / are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in risk analysis, underwriting, or a related field, preferably in the financial services or payment industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to risk management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
