Please note direct experience in the merchant credit card payment processing industry highly preferred.

Work hours will more closely align with Eastern Time, Monday - Friday 9 am - 6 pm ET.

This position requires a responsible, detail-oriented and organized individual who will perform work that is varied and is an independent problem-solver and decision-maker. This position is responsible for the review of new and current merchant accounts, analyzing merchant financial and activity risk in compliance with applicable laws and association rules and other operational duties in the normal course of merchant acquiring business.

What you'll do:

• Review existing portfolio of merchants for on-going assessment.
• Compile reporting for existing portfolio to determine chargeback/financial loss related risk.
• Work closely with underwriting department on high risk applications for website/product review.
• Work closely with chargeback department to ensure merchants are within program thresholds.
• Compile trend analysis reporting for existing merchant portfolio and review with management.
• Work closely with bank partners/industry associations to stay on top of ongoing industry trends.
• Monitor daily, monthly and quarterly sales and chargeback volumes to identify any trends or issues.
• Analyze daily merchant batch settlements for parameter violations and initiate appropriate adverse action in order to mitigate loss.
• Communicate with merchants via telephone regarding exception activity and request additional information, as necessary, and contact card issuing banks and/or cardholders regarding merchant exception activity.

What we need from you:

• High school diploma or GED. College degree preferred.
• Minimum one (1) year Risk experience in merchant payment processing or related work.
• Experience in financial statement analysis and review of credit bureau reports.
• Must be able to work independently with strong decision making skills, but must be equally comfortable collaborating with Risk team members and Merchants.
• Excellent skills in MS Excel and Word
• Skilled in negotiating, including the ability to persuade and modify opinions to reach goals
• Ability to work under pressure; flexibility and willingness to work at a rapid pace.
• Ability to be detailed, organized and multi-task.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to assimilate and understand information, in a manner consistent with essential job functions
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment with a willingness to support others
• Demonstrated creativity and enthusiasm to enhance process improvements

How to stand out:

• Prior credit card processing, investigative or lending experience highly preferred.

Hourly Pay Range: $20-$28
