The Opportunity

DAT is looking for a  Risk & Controls Lead to join our security team. This position will work hybrid in Beaverton, Oregon or Denver, Colorado. 

Candidate profile

What You’ll Do

  • Designing and implementing an overall risk management & controls process for the organization, which includes an analysis of the financial impact on the company when risks occur
  • Performing a risk assessment: Analyzing current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the company; to include strong understanding of NIST CSF, NIST Maturity, and Data Management Principles.
  • Performing a risk & controls evaluation: Evaluating the company’s previous handling of risks, and comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the company such as costs and legal requirements
  • Establishing the level of risk the company are willing to take
  • Preparing risk management, risk register, and overall risk heat maps 
  • Risk reporting tailored to the relevant audience. (Educate the ELT/XLT about the most significant risks to the business; ensuring business heads understand the risks that might affect their departments; ensuring individuals understand their own accountability for individual risks)
  • Explaining the external risk posed by governance to stakeholders
  • Evaluating business continuity plans to limit risks
  • Conducting policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors
  • Maintaining records of insurance policies and claims in terms of security & technology
  • Reviewing any new major contracts or internal business proposals for SLA risk and impacts
  • Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company

The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business administration or a similar discipline
  • Prior experience as a risk manager or in a similar role
  • Solid knowledge of risk management principles
  • Expert-level knowledge of G Suite, and other risk management tools
  • Analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

Bonus Skills 

  • Certification as a qualified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) or (CRISC)
  • Knowledge of the supply chain, logistics, or transportation specific markets, and its related instruments
  • Prior experience as a risk manager or in a similar role

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $130,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
