Risk Management Intern

MEMIC’s Summer Internship Program identifies college students who want real-world experience that will allow them to gain valuable knowledge and skills within their field of study. This is a paid internship that can also be credited towards the student’s degree. The program will last 11 weeks, beginning on June 5th and ending on August 18th. This opportunity will be full-time (37.5 hours per week).

The Risk Management Intern will assist financial planning and risk team members on enterprise risk modeling, vendor management, cyber security, business continuity planning and testing, and preparing agenda items and materials for enterprise risk management committee meetings. In addition, the Risk Management Intern will work with departments outside of risk and finance on key enterprise risks and control.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the management of our third-party partner process utilizing our Prevalent vendor management system. Tasks include configuring new users, training new users, adding vendors, SIG Light Cyber security questionnaire setup and analyzing risk management reports.
• Work with MEMIC’s ERM Financial Planning Model and Risk Dashboards to produce and present scenario analysis that supports MEMIC’s business strategy and risk management tolerances.
• Update and test MEMIC’s Business Continuity Plan and process.
• Research competitors and provide related industry analysis and trends.

 Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be pursuing an Associate degree or above. Mathematics, Economics, Business, English, or other related undergraduate degree preferred.
• Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
