Risk Management Professional
Job Description
Procon Consulting, a fast-growing professional services firm in McLean, VA with expertise in providing program and project management for design and construction, project controls, commissioning, construction-related technology, and facilities management, seeks a highly skilled Risk Management Professional (RMP) to join our consulting team in the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying, analyzing, and managing risks across various projects, ensuring successful delivery, compliance, and the protection of company and client interests.
This position requires a professional with a strong background in risk management principles, project controls, and an understanding of the unique risks associated with AEC projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and develop strategies that align with our clients’ objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk Identification & Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across AEC projects, identifying potential risks related to cost, schedule, compliance, and quality.
- Risk Mitigation Strategies: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize exposure, ensuring that all stakeholders are aware of potential risks and are prepared to address them.
- Monitor & Report: Track the status of risks and related mitigation plans throughout project lifecycles, providing timely updates and reports to project managers, clients, and executive teams.
- Compliance Management: Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and adhere to industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborative Risk Reviews: Facilitate regular risk review meetings with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of proactive risk management.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of risk management activities, processes, and lessons learned.
- Training & Mentorship: Provide risk management training and guidance to project teams, promoting a deeper understanding of risk management methodologies and tools.
- Client Consultation: Offer expert risk management consulting services to clients, helping them identify and manage project-specific risks in line with their business goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Risk Management Professional (RMP) Certification (required).
- 5+ years of experience in risk management within the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
- Strong understanding of risk management processes, tools, and methodologies, particularly in project-based environments.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as PMI-RMP, ISO 31000, or other relevant risk management frameworks.
- Proficiency with risk management software and tools (e.g., Primavera Risk Analysis, RiskWatch, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage complex projects.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in project controls and cost management within the AEC industry.
- Knowledge of construction contracts and familiarity with construction management methodologies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
