Position OverviewÂ
Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Risk Management, the Risk Management Specialist provides administrative support to the Risk Management department acting as the initial touchpoint for both internal and external requests. The Risk Management Specialist is responsible for managing and assigning departmental e-mail traffic through the e-mail ticketing system. Additionally, the Risk Management Specialist prepares workers’ compensation Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and new client workers’ compensation informational e-mails. The Risk Management Specialist interacts with both internal and external stakeholders, including clients, injured workers, claims adjusters, and medical facilities.Â
Core ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Open mail, both physical and electronic, and distribute appropriately which may include scanning and electronic filing.Â
- Screen and transfer departmental phone calls to appropriate team members, including monitoring the department voicemail box and forwarding voice messages through the e-mail ticketing system. Â
- Issue Workers’ Compensation Certificates of Insurance (COI) working with insurance broker representative on complex certificate requests. Â
- Provide new clients with workers’ compensation packets upon setup of projects.Â
- Monitor and manage Showbiz Studio Work Comp department workflows for new client setups, including assigning subtasks to relevant team members for exception reasons (client insurance certificate issues, hazardous activities, foreign work comp, other exceptions).Â
- Provide support to claims intake team members during high volume times by entering new claims into the Risk Management Information System (RMIS). Â
- Other related duties as assigned. Â
Key QualificationsÂ
- GED or equivalent required; 4-year degree preferred. Â
- Proven experience as an office clerk or other clerical position required. Â
- Previous insurance experience is a plus. Â
- PC literacy required, includes proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred.
- Possesses excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Possesses excellent prioritization and time management skills. Â
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.Â
Compensation is commensurate with various factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, licensure, certifications, geographic cost of labor, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation range for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
The compensation range for this position is:
$20—$23 USD
