About The Role:


We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager, Auto to develop and manage credit risk strategies to support Upgrade’s Indirect Auto Finance portfolio. We are rapidly growing our business and are seeking an individual to help manage the processes, procedures and strategies required to accelerate our geographic expansion. Must be a very hands-on manager and extremely detail-oriented. The ideal candidate will have extensive consumer finance experience with a preference for an auto lending background.


What You'll Do:

  • Identify potential issues and risks and develop analytical approaches, solutions, or strategies to answer business questions, mitigate risks, increase capture rates and improve automation

  • Support the development of pricing and collection strategies/monitoring

  • Work closely with members of the Auto Production team, to review and enhance Upgrade's underwriting practice (auto/manual approval strategy, credit policy, procedure and model use) to achieve results within Upgrade's credit risk tolerance

  • Work closely with production team to develop data driven strategies to segment Upgrade’s auto dealer base and test strategies to improve conversion rates and profitability within those segments

  • Obtain subject matter expertise in internal and external data sources and ensure data integrity, while monitoring loan performance through hands-on analyses

  • Ensure all strategy/policy changes are appropriately documented with proper approval(s) and work with engineering teams through testing and implementation.

  • Oversee and mentor junior analysts, providing guidance, support and feedback


What We Look For:

  • 4+ years in a consumer credit risk role at a financial institutionĀ Ā 

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Innately curious, constantly asking questions and seeking answers through data exploration

  • Detail oriented and strong analytic skill set with a proven ability to solve white space problems

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, Python, or R

  • Good communicator with the ability to discuss/present complex issues in a simple manner to a variety of audiences including peers, senior managers, potential investors, and auditors/regulators.

  • Proactive, driven, and ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment
