Join us as an ERM Risk Manager

Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting an ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) Vice President to join our Operational Risk team. The ERM VP role will support core activities of the Operational Risk Pillar within Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). This includes managing the Firm's operational risk program and related platform and polices, as well as supporting the centralized risk oversight of certain firmwide operational processes. The ERM VP must have the ability to work on a variety of activities simultaneously and be able to work effectively across levels, functions, and locations, and in close coordination with their ERM and Systems colleagues, and other control groups.

Your key responsibilities will center around the Firm's operational risk platform:

  • Manage ERM Ops Risk program requirements for risk event management and Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs)
  • Oversee program adherence; work with business areas and other control groups to ensure requirements are met; respond to user inquiries regarding policy requirements
  • Lead and/or participate in development and testing of system enhancements and upgrades, including designing, documenting, and testing of business requirements
  • Support ongoing systems maintenance for the risk event and RCSA applications including managing staff performing user access updates, data uploads, systems archiving, etc.; respond to user inquiries regarding system functionality
  • Manage production of risk metrics and efforts to enhance risk analytics: identify trends and themes and identify potential areas requiring further in-depth review; conduct in-depth reviews of selected areas
  • Oversee preparation of senior management reporting of program activities including results, RCSAs, operational risk events, and other risk metrics
  • Represent ERM Ops Risk on committees and working groups for firmwide control programs/initiatives (e.g., data loss prevention, end user computing, firmwide operational standards)

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in financial services
  • Experience in systems risk and/or operational risk preferred (first or second line of defense)
  • Audit and project management experience a plus
  • Strong technical skills with demonstrated ability to develop solutions and drive implementation
  • Experience with Archer and/or reporting tools a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including balancing ongoing responsibilities with project management
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship, collaboration, negotiation, and influencing skills
