What will you do?
We are looking for a skilled Risk Officer to lead the design and implementation of robust risk management processes that address financial, credit, fraud, compliance risks. The Risk Officer will build a Risk Operational team that will manage the underwriting as well as the transactional monitoring.
The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Finance, Legal and Tech partners, to translate risk assessments into actionable product and process improvements and oversee their implementation.
Job Requirements
As a risk Officer at Hibob, your responsibilities will include:

  • Risk Architecture and Assessment:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework for the Payroll products, focusing on financial risks, compliance and fraud.
    • Conduct regular risk surveys and assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and gaps.
  • Financial Risks and Fraud Prevention:
    • Design processes to identify, monitor, and mitigate fraud, credit, and compliance risks, such as payment discrepancies, fraud, and money laundering activities.
    • Implement fraud detection tools and processes to safeguard payroll transactions.
  • Product Requirements Alignment:
    • Translate findings from risk assessments into detailed product and/or process requirements.
    • Collaborate with Product teams to embed risk controls and fraud prevention mechanisms into the Payroll platforms.
  • Compliance and Legal Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Legal to ensure compliance with regional regulations, AML requirements, GDPR, and other relevant standards.
    • Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure proactive adjustments to policies and processes.
  • Process Design and Oversight:
    • Architect scalable, efficient processes to manage risks and ensure compliance with financial and legal obligations.
    • Oversee the implementation and operationalization of risk controls across the organization.
    • Establish the underwriting and monitoring framework, tools and teams to operate risk mitigation on an ongoing basis.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with Legal, Product, Finance CS and Operations teams to align risk management practices across the company.
    • Act as the point of contact for risk-related queries and provide expertise to internal stakeholders.
  • Risk Operations Strategy:
    • Present risk assessments as well as recommendations to the Board Risk committee, and will execute according to its Risk Strategy.
    • Define the structure and operational setup for Risk Operations, ensuring clarity on ownership and accountability.
    • Establish ongoing monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track risk indicators and effectiveness of controls.
  • Execution and Follow-Through:
    • Supervise the practical application of findings from risk assessments and ensure timely implementation of recommendations.
    • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of risk controls and make improvements as needed.
