We’re looking for a Risk Screening Team Leader, a highly motivated leader who will oversee a team responsible for sanctions and risk screening activities, ensuring alerts are handled in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies. The role requires strong analytical and leadership skills, the ability to manage operational performance, and the capability to guide the team in making well-reasoned decisions based on complex data sets.
What you’ll be spending your time on:
- Ensuring team members meet defined KPIs and SLAs through effective monitoring, coaching, and operational oversight
- Developing team members through continuous feedback, training, and goal setting to support both individual growth and team performance
- Acting as an escalation point for complex alerts and investigations, providing guidance and final review when required
- Leading and coordinating Screening Team projects, ensuring alignment with compliance and business priorities '
- Promoting and driving initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, reducing workload, and positively impacting customer experience
- Ensuring readiness for and supporting the success of internal and external audits, including maintaining proper documentation and controls
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes, policies, and screening methodologies
- Monitoring operational trends and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in screening workflows and decision making
Have you done this kind of stuff?
- Bachelor’s degree – a must
- At least 3 years of proven managerial experience leading operational or compliance teams – a must
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in online risk/compliance management, fraud prevention, or compliance/risk within a global payments, remittance, or e-commerce environment – a must
- Hands-on experience with sanctions screening, name screening, or sanctions compliance processes (e.g., reviewing alerts, sanctions list matching, or handling sanctions-related investigations) – a strong advantage
- Familiarity with global sanctions frameworks and screening requirements (such as OFAC, EU, UN or similar regulatory regimes) – an advantage
- Excellent communication skills and strong English proficiency (written and spoken) – a must
- A positive, energetic, and communicative people-person with strong leadership presence – a must
- Proven cross-team collaboration and strong interpersonal skills
- A well-organised, energetic individual with a proactive, can-do approach
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure
- Flexible attitude and emotional agility in dynamic environments
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and uncertainty in a fast-paced environment
- An independent and proactive thinker who takes initiative and follows processes through to completion
