Job Description
The Risk Associate will assist in assessing and managing risk at TAB. Key responsibilities include coordinating testing and evidence gathering for testing of Financial Reporting Risk (FDICIA Testing) and Operational Risk Testing (ORM). The ideal candidate will understand bank processes, possess the ability to work with limited supervision, possess excellent communication skills, and have the desire to innovate and improve processes at TAB bank.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- FDICIA Financial Report Risk Testing
- Assist the Senior Risk Specialist in completing annual FDICIA control testing
- Documentation of key control processes
- Coordinating the recording and gathering of control evidence
- Working closely with control owners in all functional areas of the bank
- Work with internal and external resources to complete FDICIA testing on a quarterly basis, including planning, testing, and documentation.
- Operational Risk Management
- Facilitate management risk assessments throughout all areas of the bank
- Perform testing of operational controls
- Document results of testing, including any follow-up required
- Participate in the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) assessment program
- Document and communicate the results of testing to all levels of management
- Serve as an interface with business groups and process owners through the bank
- Aid in development of policies, procedures, and standards
- Make process improvement recommendations based on testing results
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associates degree or higher
- 2 years Banking experience
- Compliance or Audit experience a plus
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
- Understanding of Banking products and processes
- Understanding of Risks and Controls
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work with all levels of employees
- Superior skills with Microsoft Office package (especially Excel)
- Ability to follow-up and complete projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
