This is an exciting opportunity to join the Risk Strategy team in a role that supports the whole business by monitoring our various Group risk exposures. The successful candidate will analyse where the Group's risks are concentrated, how they are changing day to day, over time and suggest ways to improve our risk and capital profile.

As a Risk Strategy Analyst, you will keep abreast of current and emerging risks, as well as understand the detail of various market and credit risk calculations. Overall, this role is a great mix for someone with strong quantitative and analytical skills.

Your role in the team

This role is one of 4 members of the Risk Strategy team. The role will involve understanding how IG monitors and manages its various risks, and how this influences the regulatory and economic capital the Group holds. You will work closely with the various risk teams as well as the broader business to understand the sources of IG's risks and ensure that these are captured in our risk management framework and risk appetite statement. You will analyse why the risk exposures have changed from day to day, and advise on trends over time. A curious mind and a desire to provide clarity are required traits.

What you’ll do

• Oversee the various metrics in the risk appetite statement to pick up issues and trends

• Analyse data to understand changes in market and credit risk exposures - Build dashboards to assist with this if appropriate

• Keep abreast of current and emerging risks and write a semi-annual paper describing these. This also requires gathering information from subject matter experts across the business.

• Keep abreast of best practice methodologies for measuring risks, keeping in mind the effect this has on how we manage capital

• Be responsible for the Group's Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement

• Keep in touch with new projects within the Group and their associated risks and capital requirements. This requires developing relationships with people in other teams and divisions.

What you’ll need for this role

• A detailed understanding of market, credit and operational risk

• A bachelor's degree with good maths or quantitative content

• Strong data analysis skills

• Tableau or Power BI experience useful

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• High levels of attention to detail

• An ability to explain challenging concepts in a simple manner

• A minimum of 5 year’s experience

• Applicants possessing a background in Risk are strongly preferred
