The Application Engineer will be a highly motivated team player who will provide first class pre-sales support and proof of concept to our end customers, distribution network and salespeople in this region, the ideal candidate will be Alabama.
We require an entrepreneurial minded self-starter who can work with minimal supervision. In addition to answering technical questions, creating sample programs, sizing and BOM creation for complex motion, automation robotics solutions, as well as assisting in the sales and support of OMRON products and services, successful candidates must be capable of working on their own assignments and looking for opportunities on their own.

Responsibilities
- To conform with U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government.
- Demonstrate broad knowledge and experience across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, and should be comfortable both working alongside design engineering, and helping to guide customers as they seek to incorporate fixed, collaborative and mobile robotic technologies into their automation plans.
- Provide pre-sales engineering support to Sales team members to identify and recommend robotics solutions to applications at customers.
- Complete demos and studies that involve design of simple machine fixtures and tooling
- Complete and communicate reports summarizing the findings and videos documenting the testing performed.
Job Requirements (Top 4-5 requirements)
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or Relevant Experience in Automation (e.g., EE / Mechatronics / Industrial / Mechanical / Vision)
- 3 to 5 years' experience supporting automation product. 5 to 7 years' experience in servo and motion controls products, robot programming, and integration of manufacturing systems
- Must be able to maintain knowledge on current and new technologies within Omron and the overall automation industry.
- A deemed Export License may be required.
