Job Description

Intelsat's Rotational Associate Program is a highly competitive two-year program that provides recent graduates the opportunity to develop their technical skills in the communications industry at the forefront of satellite innovation. As a Rotational Associate, you will work for 8 months at a time, over a two-year period, in three different teams and experience the day-to-day responsibilities of the different career paths and work with different teams as they collaborate to achieve their goals.

Intelsat's Rotational Associate Program
In this track, you will utilize your education and skills and have the opportunity to make a lasting impact working with the Systems Innovation, System Validation, Analytics and Product Management teams. Upon successful completion of the 24-month program, you will be promoted and placed accordingly into a role that will align with and build upon your experience.

Rotational Associate Program Description:
  • 2-year program
  • Three 8-month rotations in different departments
  • Full time placement upon completion of program
  • Hybrid environment (minimum 2 days in office location)

Minimum Requirements:
  • Familiarity in programming and analytical tools
  • Knowledge of relational databases and data warehouses
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and maturity in the workplace
  • Effective communicator in both written and spoken English
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office Suite
  • 4-year degree (Bachelor's Degree)

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to the minimum requirements outlined)
  • BA/BS degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or other degree with data and analytics experience.
  • Familiarity in programming and analytical tools to extract, transform, summarize, and visualize data that aligns with the objectives of a given project:
    • SQL (intermediate)
    • Excel (intermediate)
    • Tableau (familiar)
    • R (familiar)
    • Python (familiar)
  • Knowledge of data lakes and warehouses, relational databases, various data structures and data types
  • Master's Degree

Position Description:
The associate will work closely with the Analytics team to:
Review project goals and requirements and prepare appropriate datasets using multiple sources to enable analysis
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to answer business questions, generate insights and recommend actions for adjacent teams to drive improvements
  • Profile data and learn how to quickly identify and manage quality related issues
  • Conduct rapid, ad-hoc analysis supporting a variety of different business units
  • Design and deliver self-service dashboards using a blend of statistical techniques and visualization methods enabling users to monitor and potentially action
  • Assemble and present analytic deliverables to senior leaders

Job Responsibilities
The associate will have an opportunity to:
  • Learn and work with several data domains used in the Commercial Aviation business
  • Acquire technical knowledge and build programming, analytical and data visualization skills using Tableau, AWS Redshift, AWS Athena, and Python
  • Collaborate with senior members of Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Intelligence and Data Engineering
  • Support combination of strategic projects and ad-hoc requests from internal functions (Product, Operations, Network, Engineering, Finance) as well as Airline/MNO partners
  • Apply data-driven decision making to solve real-world, complex business problems
