Safety Compliance Coordinator

Job Summary

The essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to: Obtain an updated motor vehicle record for each driver annually, review and determine whether minimum safety driver requirements have been met. May be required to coordinate maintenance of driver files, reviews DOT compliance areas and insures items are documented properly including MVRs, Citations, Training, Medical Examinations, Temp Lease Drivers, Sleep Apnea, Drug and Alcohol and DOT Accidents.
 

Duties and responsibilities

• Preform inquiry to licensing authorities for driver's motor vehicle records.
• Review driving records to determine there are no disqualifying offenses per 49 CFR 391.15
• Maintain copies of records in the driver's qualification file.
• Updates Operation Managers on changes, and/or issues with driving records that may affect their drivers
• Insures all DOT information contained within the files is up to date..
• Updates include license and medical information, training and driver points, experience and personal assessment, as may be required.
• Review accident information insuring all items are collected and maintained as required by the DOT.
• Review all medical notes and examination reports for driver’s certification and insure drivers are medically qualified to operate equipment, as may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Attention to detail. Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook experience are a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Good PC skills.
• Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
• Must be able to stay informed and up-to-date on all Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.
