Safety & Quality Engineer

NA Pump QRCs

We are seeking a Safety and Quality Engineer to partner with manufacturing operations within the NA Pump QRC network to support our β€œTarget ZERO” goal of zero injuries, zero defects, and zero impact to the environment. This position is the safety and quality champion to ensure effective and consistent rollout and application of initiatives necessary to achieve Target ZERO. The successful candidate must have a passion for continuous improvement and be capable of collaboration with multiple departments documenting non-conformance to prevent safety and quality events. The person filling this role must be prepared to escalate concerns to the appropriate party and always promote a culture of safety and quality in a professional manner.

In addition, this person will act as the liaison between global and corporate Manufacturing leadership teams who oversee Safety and Quality programs. They will be responsible for understanding corporate requirements and properly implementing them within NA SSO operations. In addition to safety and quality, this may also include manufacturing strategy deployment. This role will report to the Operational Excellence Leader of North America.

Location:

  • Pasadena TX, West Chicago IL, or Rancho Dominguez CA

Travel: Mostly domestic 30% - 50%

Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • In partnership with Pumps HSE operations, drive Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) program and ensure documents and records are kept organized and accessible
    • Follow up and support the completion on Best practices, HSE initiatives and learnings
  • Deploy policy training, review, and documentation
  • Support Safety Maturity Level Assessment process and ensure all facilities maintain or elevate maturity scores
  • In partnership with operations drive Quality program to document all non-conformances in our quality management system
    • Support the completion of Corrective Actions and Problem Solving
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts for safety and quality projects
  • Develop and train a process for KPI reporting and documentation
  • Professional presence, especially when dealing with employees and visitors
  • Maintain our equipment calibration program
  • Ensure corporate safety alerts are effectively implemented and follow up continuously on adherence

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years in machining, quality control or related field working with safety or quality management systems within a Manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, to include geometric dimensioning and tolerances
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of ISO standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
