The Safety Specialist works with Operations Leadership and associates across the Sales and Distribution Centers and Fab Shops to support a strong safety culture and is responsible for ensuring the facilities are compliant with all OSHA, Federal, and State/Local guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise on Cambria safety standards and programs
- Support to continuously improve the following programs: incident reporting and investigation, emergency preparedness, hazardous communication, lock-out-tag-out, crane, forklift, confined space, fall protection, blood borne pathogen, emergency response plans, and hearing conservation
- Ensure the processing facility is compliant with all OSHA, Federal and State/Local guidelines, requirements and Cambria safety standards by auditing all safety training activities
- Advise, inform and generate reports for operations leadership on relevant safety initiatives
- Assist with accident or near miss investigations
- Facilitate the Safety Improvement Teams
- Monitor inventory for safety supplies and interact with vendors
- Support the ERT (Emergency Response Team) ensure drills are being conducted as necessary
- Conduct industrial hygiene and noise sampling as necessary
- Communicate effectively with all employees
- Keep work area clean and orderly
- Handle chemicals
- Perform job duties safely as outlined in the Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to travel 25% - 50%
- Additional duties as assigned by management
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- 1-3 years relevant experience
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations for General Industry and DOT regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products
- Crane and forklift experience
- Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
- Basic math skills
- Mechanically inclined
- Industrial work experience
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Â High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
Experience: Safety experience in manufacturing field preferred

Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Push/pull 100 lbs.
- Stand on feet for long periods of time during a shift for up to 12 hours, with intermittent breaks
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Cambria
- Work in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions
- Walk up and down steps multiple times throughout shift
- Bend over multiple times throughout shift
Task Based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- Steel toed boots
- Hearing Protection
- Safety glasses
- Cut-proof gloves
- Latex gloves
- Face shield
- High visibility vest
- Half or Full-facepiece Respirator
The US base salary range for this position is $55k-$65k annually. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education or training.
