Western Door Federal currently has an opening on our team for an experienced Safety Specialist II to support our government client in Washington, D.C. to facilitate cross-functional and cross-organizational collaboration with Government leaders and their staff members on Safety matters.
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in studies and analyses to determine impact of Safety policies and procedures. Identify programs and guidelines to facilitate standardization and optimization of Safety programs. Advanced and/or specialized degrees may or may not be required.
- The Contractor shall help update and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), battle rhythm synchronization matrix, and processes internal to DASA (ESOH) as needed.
- The Contractor shall submit monthly cost and performance reports in a mutually agreed upon format. These reports shall describe the project’s actual costs and progress against the proposed schedule and resources. These reports shall also contain, as a minimum, the following information: status of all project elements, highlights of Contractor’s major accomplishments during the month, discussion of any problems or obstacles encountered and what actions were taken to remedy the situation.
- The Contractor shall help develop an updated project portfolio reviews of all projects, assess timelines, deliverables and scope. The Contractor shall support the Director for SOH and Director for OEH in reviewing the structure of current projects and scoping new initiatives to align with updated strategic plans.
Deliverables include:
- Studies and analysis for Director of Safety
- ASHMS program charter and program document review
- Strategic communication products
- OSHA violation / hazard tracking and abatement process model and supporting documentation
Qualification Requirements:
- Must have an active Tier II non-critical sensitive, Personal Identity Verification (PIV)
- Subject Matter knowledge of and experience with analytical and evaluative methods and techniques, to include qualitative and quantitative analysis, comprehensive studies, and development of assessments, recommendations, and position statements.
- Knowledge of and a minimum of 8-10 years’ demonstrated (actual) experience with Army SOH programs.
- Understanding and a minimum 8-10 years’ experience in staffing and coordinating actions within the Army Secretariat, the Office of the Secretary of Defense or individual services.
- Demonstrated (actual) knowledge and experience with the Army, Military Department or DoD Agency SOH programs, its management structure and the systems used to evaluate effectiveness of the Army SOH programs.
- Demonstrated (actual) experience in conducting SOH program performance reviews and analyses across the broad spectrum of SOH activities.
- In depth knowledge of and demonstrated experience in hazard tracking and abatement, Total Case Incident Rate (TCIR) and Days Away Restricted Duty as related to and defined by Department of Labor.
- Demonstrated (actual) experience with Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) as it relates to SOH methodology and Business Process Reengineering (BPR).
- Demonstrated (actual) experience in how the Army, Military Departments or DoD Agency functions on a wide variety of missions and the potential SOH concerns of Soldiers, Civilians, contractors and families and their connection with OSHA establishments.
- Demonstrated (actual) experience in applying sound management principles and judgment in analyzing unique problems and issues specific to executing Army, Military Departments or DoD Agency SOH programs.
- Demonstrated (actual) knowledge of Army, Military Department of DoD Agency, Federal, state, local, DoD, DA or specific command SOH regulations;
- Demonstrated (actual) knowledge ability to prepare and coordinate staff actions within HQDA and across the Army enterprise or equivalent Military Department or DoD Agency.
- Demonstrated (actual) experience in SOH planning, programming, budgeting, and executing support for the Army SOH program (no certifications required).
