SummaryBaldor Specialty Foods, an industry leader in specialty food distribution, is growing its analytics team to support data-driven decision-making across the business. The Sales Analyst at Baldor will play a pivotal role in supporting our sales operations and generating critical insights that inform our go-to-market strategy. The primary responsibilities will involve data analysis, sales strategy support, and sales forecasting to help us continue delivering the finest specialty foods to our customers across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of sales data leveraging Power BI and Excel to generate ad-hoc reports and insights for the Sales and Revenue Operations teams.
- Lead the collection, processing, and analysis of sales data, including tracking sales performance, identifying trends, and building reusable reports.
- Gather and preprocess historical sales data, ensuring the incorporation of factors unique to the food distribution industry, including seasonality and trends in consumer preferences.
- Extract revenue and sales data from Power BI and prepare statistics on metrics such as number of drops, number of cases delivered, gross revenue per unit, and overall gross revenue for routine reporting.
- Utilize advanced statistical tests and modeling techniques to develop accurate and reliable sales forecasts.
- Implement time series analysis, regression models, and other relevant statistical methods to uncover patterns and trends in sales data.
- Collaborate with teams across sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain to understand business dynamics and market trends that may impact sales performance.
- Assist in the formulation of sales strategies by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
Desired Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in a sales operations role.
- At least 2 years of experience in data analysis, with proficiency in Power BI or other modern data visualization technologies (e.g. Tableau, Qlik Sense).
- Advanced mastery of Excel (e.g. pivot tables, VBA, array formulas) and experience building advanced functions (INDEX/MATCH, LOOKUP, VLOOKUP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of the data lifecycle (e.g. collection, storage, transformation, modeling, and consumption) and key considerations for each phase of data management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and usage of common statistical tests and advanced statistical tests (e.g. ANOVAs, cluster analysis, time series analysis).
- Experience leading research and analysis to identify and recommend KPIs and meaningful metrics that address business needs.
- Experience leading design efforts and making recommendations of reports and visualizations that drive action.
- Excellent requirements solicitation skills, specifically through conducting interviews and leading stakeholder workshops.
- Excellent communication skills with experience translating data into actionable insights.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with and understanding of food distribution and specialty foods industries is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Business Administration, Finance, Economics)
