POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Associate role supports the C&IS North American Sales Team working directly with experienced institutional sales professionals responsible for acquiring new business for Northern Trust. The Sales Associate will work closely on specific opportunities as well as assist in the implementation of broader territory management. This would include: financial modeling of deal profitability, updating the sales pipeline, helping to build travel itineraries, assisting with conference registrations and expense reimbursements, creating and editing proposals/presentations. The role reports to the Head of Sales Operations and includes both daily/weekly responsibilities along with ad hoc projects, all geared toward generating revenue growth for C&IS. Further, the role requires frequent communication with senior leaders and internal stakeholders, in addition to coordination with external prospects and consultants.

ADDITIONAL KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Conducting prospect and market research.
- Analyzing competitor data to identify differentiators and product gaps.
- Managing pricing process, including FTE request, generation of fee models and pricing proposals. In addition, the Sales Associate presents deal profitability for approval on behalf of the sales partner as needed.
- Organizing and preparing for all sales presentations and due diligence client/prospect visits. Aspects include meeting logistics, presentation materials, prep sessions, briefing memos, meeting agendas, etc.
- Participating in prospect meetings with sales representative, recording notes for call reports.
- Coordinating and attending conferences/events and working along-side corporate marketing teams.
- Identifying and recommending opportunities to gain efficiencies and improve processes/outcomes.
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of NT's products and services and basic sales concepts (usually obtained through related work experience or formal education) is required to assist with the sales process.
- Expert understanding of related computer applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, is a must.
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required to interact with internal partners and prospects.
- Should be able to work independently and manage multiple, time sensitive items while maintaining a calm demeanor. Flexibility, adaptability, and attention to detail are essential personality traits.
