Job Description
The Daily Beast is seeking a highly motivated Sales Director responsible for continuing and creating new sales momentum in the NYC/Northeast market among agencies and brands. Candidate should have experience in the digital media space selling digital media solutions at a publisher. The ideal candidate should be driven, focused on relationship building and have experience with consultative selling and closing deals.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Meeting and exceeding revenue goals while surpassing internal KPIs set by management
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently to find new business within the territory
- Being an expert in the full suite of products and advertising solutions across The Daily Beast portfolio
- Selling programs which include custom narratives, digital video, podcasting and events
- Building and managing an individual pipeline to exceed personal sales targets through direct partnerships and programmatic deals
- Delivering quality customer service to our brand partners through effective communication and timely deliveries
- Proactively identifies new revenue opportunities; drives account growth and profitability acceleration including new business, up-sell and cross-sell opportunities
- Owns extensive client communication, strategic planning and troubleshooting account complications to promote client satisfaction; develops and improves executive level relationships within named account(s)
- Creates value and differentiates our audiences/products from competitors
- Partnering with Marketing and Shared Services internally to identify and build solutions to generate leads, convert opportunities, and drive a repeatable revenue stream
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of digital media experience within an agency or at a publisher
- An ambitious, self-starter attitude
- Ability to work in a faced-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Understanding of programmatic landscape
- A solution-oriented mindset to handle objections
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Why Work Here
The pay range for this position is: $115,000 - $150,000 per year for a total OTE of $230,000 - $300,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, performance and other factors. The range listed is just one component of The Daily Beast’s total compensation package for sales people. The Daily Beast provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
