Summary / Objective
The Sales Director leads the effort to bring in new Top Level Domain (TLD) opportunities for the Registry Services Provider (RSP) division. The primary responsibilities of this role include developing relationships globally with current and prospective clients to bring in new business and collaborating with the marketing team to increase the business unit's brand exposure.
This role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the effort to bring in new Top Level Domain (TLD) opportunities for the RSP division.
  • Independently identify opportunities and present strategies to execute business development and sales for the RSP business unit.
  • Help create a strategy to expand the footprint and build the department.
  • Monitor sales targets accurately and track leads within Salesforce throughout the entire customer journey.
  • Identify potential customers in the global TLD market within the first quarter with expectation to sign contracts(s) within a year.
  • Develop strong and long-term client relationships.
  • Collaboratively set sales and revenue targets in partnership with executive leadership.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to meet department and organizational goals.
  • Consistently achieve/exceed revenue targets and KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities and attend key tradeshows, ICANN & other events to drive new leads and revenue.
  • Proactively identify the most innovative ways and sourcing methods to bolster the pipeline with new leads.
  • Display advanced knowledge of domain industry trends through independent research of articles, podcasts, press releases, etc.
  • Identify customer needs and communicate how company products and services fulfill those needs.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Finance, Technology, and other groups to build compelling business proposals.
  • Travel nationally and/or internationally to support key customer or industry meetings, trade shows, and internal company meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are / What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in communications, business, or a related field or combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the domain industry.
  • Strong analytical skills: a critical thinker with the ability to seek out and utilize data for creative problem-solving.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare clear and concise reports, proposals, and formal presentations for small to large audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell and bring new business in the domain name industry.
  • Experience with a CRM tool, Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • High attention to detail and ability to balance multiple priorities with excellent follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently with excellent time management.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Ability to work across time zones as part of a global organization (when applicable).

Salary Range
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $111,500 - $130,000, plus benefits as described below. In addition, the successful candidate will be eligible to receive other compensation from time to time in the form of discretionary and/or nondiscretionary bonuses and a long-term incentive plan. Actual compensation will be influenced by a candidate's qualifications, internal employee equity considerations, and location. We will not ask for information about a candidate's current or past compensation for purposes of developing an offer of employment.
US Employees (and their spouses, domestic partners, and/or dependent children) are covered by generously subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance. Employees are also covered by company-paid life and disability insurance and have the option of participating in employee-paid supplemental life, accidental death and dismemberment, critical illness, and accident insurance. In addition, employees are able to enroll in the company's matching 401(k) retirement plan. Employees will also annually receive 20 days of paid vacation, 5 days of paid sick leave, 13 paid holidays, and 8 weeks of paid parental leave. Employees will also have the opportunity to receive tuition reimbursement for qualifying tuition and education-related expenses.
