Joining Collibra Sales Engineer team

Sales Engineering works with customers, to understand the needs of their organizations, and translate those requirements into a solution that will deliver value to those organizations. Sales Engineers are experts in data management disciplines including data catalogs & governance, data privacy & protection, data quality, data sharing and data product creation. The sales engineer works in Collibra’s go-to-market team supporting our sales teams and customer success teams to deliver solutions to our customers that make data available to all, safely and with accuracy. Our Sales Engineers partner with resellers partners, system integrator and technology partners to deliver solutions excellence.

Sales Engineers at Collibra are responsible for

  • Assisting in qualifying opportunities that match our current and future capabilities.
  • Explaining and demonstrating our capabilities to customers and prospective customers.
  • Developing proposals with other team members that are compelling, and meet or exceed client needs.
  • Owning and managing proof-of-concept projects.
  • Providing timely market feedback to product management teams based on market requirements.
  • Taking part in a wide variety of marketing events, from exhibitions to conferences, webcasts and podcasts.

You have

  • A bachelor’s degree or 5 years equivalent related working experience is required
  • Proficient speaking in  Dutch
  • Strong understanding of database technologies, and at least one enterprise class reporting toolset (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau) 
  • Proven track record in selling enterprise-class software solutions (either business function, analytics, governance or data transformation).
  • Demonstrable ownership of multiple full and complex sales cycles as the primary pre-sales professional.
  • Proven track record of demonstrating software tool solutions and executing successful proof of concept plans to enterprise prospects.
  • You will be familiar with the challenges of at least one industry vertical from (Telco, retail, Investment/retail banking, Manufacturing or Healthcare).
  • You will be experienced in basic scripting (e.g. Python, Java), simple API calls and SQL queries.

  • Able to readily absorb and comprehend new technologies and learn quickly
  • Able to communicate effectively, in English and Dutch, via multiple channels (verbal, written, presentation) with technical and non-technical staff across internal and external organizations
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams across several geographies
  • Focused on impact, through enabling the success of others with a strong team mentality
  • To command respect from a multi-disciplinary team, delegate effectively and be accountable for results.
  • To Travel within the Benelux region is an integral part of this role to meet customers and partners, some longer distance business travel on demand. Typically our teams visit a local office (where there is local) 2 days per week when not visiting clients/partners.

Measures of success

  • Within a month, articulate a value proposition and navigate the Collibra solution confidently.
  • Within your third month, you will be able to qualify opportunities and perform demonstrations/presentations.
  • Within your sixth month, you will be able to deliver complex demonstrations, presentations and have owned a first proof of concept.
