JOB PURPOSE

The Sales Engineer is responsible for providing comprehensive pre-sales technical consulting support of enterprise computing,storage and virtualsolutions. Activities include but not limited to: evaluating customer needs and requirements, solution architecting and costing, technical writing, proposal generation, interdepartmental coordination and customer presentations. Primary role is to assist Sales by representing SageNet's technical capabilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serves customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services.
• Work in partnership with Sales to establish and maintain key technical relationship with a prospect or customer
• Act as subject matter expert on SageNet services and equipment offerings
• Team with Account Managers and technology partners to develop account strategies
• Co-develop pricing and ROI strategy with Sales Account Executives
• Lead Architect for developing complete solutions based on knowledge of existing products and services, as well as future roadmap
• Perform due diligence on overall solution including technical and business requirements and company risk analysis
• Provide accurate costing and documentation of proposed custom solutions
• Effectively engage company resources in all departments to develop high quality RFP/RFI/RFQ responses
• Develop and deliver technical presentations to customers
• Assist in the development of proposals, pricing, technical white papers, blog content, application notes, test plans and feedback reports
• Work with Product Management Team and Technology Partners to determine applicability of new products and services.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years technical experience supporting large enterprise customers utilizing Citrix and VMWare
• Experience with Citrix, HPE, Cisco, Aruba and Pure preferred
• Strong analytical ability
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• In depth knowledge of storage, virtual server, and compute design
• In depth knowledge of networking protocols, routing and concepts including WLAN
• In depth knowledge of enterprise applications commonly operating in WAN environments
• Ability to qualify, design, and price LAN, WLAN and WAN solutions
• Ability to establish and build relationships in large IT organizations, technology partners and networking events
• Ability and strong desire to quickly learn new concepts and ideas
• Ability to develop creative solutions for new opportunities
• Experience with developing network architectures using Cisco, Meraki and/or Fortinet equipment is preferred
• Hands-on experience with configuration and management of networking equipment
• Ability to travel
• BA/BS University degree with a concentration in Engineering or Computer Science preferred
• Storage and compute technical certifications desired

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work productively in a corporate office space, remotely, or while travelling to customer sites
• Business casual in office, and business professional in front of customers
• Requires some nights, weekends, and overnight travel
• 25% travel, so ability to travel that extensively, and be in planes without issues is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Be able to sit for long periods of time without issues
• Be able to stand for long periods of time while giving presentations
• Extensive use of hands and fingers for typing, handling baggage, and paperwork
• Extensive use of eyes for reviewing contracts and data on a computer screen or in physical form
• 25% travel, so ability to travel that extensively, and be in planes without issues is required
