Sales Engineer - Embedded Software
Job Description
We have an immediate need for a Sales Engineer to maintain and expand embedded software opportunities, while managing customer relationships to facilitate long-term partnerships. You will be utilizing your deep automotive embedded software technical knowledge to:
- Assess current and prospective customer needs to uncover requirements for our solutions
- Provide product information. Articulate the technical value proposition and key differentiating capabilities to prospective customers
- Identify, specify and propose projects and/or solutions to assist customers integrating Vector software into their products or processes
- Initiate and provide customer quotes in a timely manner, monitor status and verify accuracy, follow up on quotes and purchase orders as needed
- Assess market potential by qualifying customers; expand sales in existing accounts by introducing new products, processes and services
- Manage and expand business with key OEM/ Tier 1 customers; identify needs to be filled and work with internal groups to fill these needs
- Enter product, customer and other similar data in SAP or other Company systems or databases
- Facilitate information flow between functions to expedite orders to ensure successful order fulfillment; ultimately ensuring the customers' expectations have been met
- Contribute information to market strategy by monitoring competitive products and providing feedback from customers
- Collaborates with the sales team to achieve overall sales objectives
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2+ years of customer-facing sales experience
- Positive, customer-service oriented attitude
- Effectively listen and communicate technical information
- Recognize, develop, and propose embedded software solutions to existing or potential customers

- Ability to work with a sense of urgency to provide timely responses to customer inquiries

- Detail oriented and capable to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment
- Excellent interpersonal, team, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability and motivation to continuously expand product knowledge as needed
- Available to travel 5 - 10% of the time for trade shows, customer visits, etc
- B.S. in EE/SE/CE/CS or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
Preferred qualifications:
- 2+ years in automotive software/electronics environment
- Knowledge of OEM/Tier1 automotive ECU development and testing process
- Experience with SAP and CRM
- Experience with AUTOSAR and in-vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc)
- Strong understanding of OEM/ Tier 1 customer embedded software challenges and market requirements such as ASPICE, ISO26262, etc
