POSITION OVERVIEW

Alarm.com, a rapidly growing and entrepreneurial technology company, is seeking a Sales Engineer / Technical Account Manager to join our International Team, reporting to the Director of Business Development in Europe.  This position will support new and existing business relationship by providing technical training, new product evaluation and deployment, and supporting escalated technical issues and requirements for accounts across the Nordic region.  The successful candidate will be our market expert in the region and support pre-sales engineering, in-country launch planning and ongoing account development. This role will assist our partners to build and grow over time by understanding and utilizing the full suite of Alarm.com services, ranging from backend integrations and support tools to end user features and functionality.  The ideal candidate will be well versed in technology, have a keen problem solving sense, demonstrate strong communication skills, and be prepared to travel to client locations in the Nordic region, and around Europe.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sales Engineer’s primary job responsibilities will include:

  • Managing technical relationships with accounts in the Nordic region under the guidance of the international business development team.
  • Acting as the technical escalation point for partners to raise potential issues in the region.
  • Provide pre-sales engineering support for key prospects and accounts, assist with NPI launch planning and go to market activities, deliver technical training and ongoing account support.
  • Developing propositions and knowledge required for entry into new markets and verticals.
  • Gathering feedback from partners and end-user customers on local market needs.
  • Staying up to date with Alarm.com product and feature releases, enabling them for partners.
  • Testing new products and services for market readiness, providing appropriate feedback.
  • Representing Alarm.com at various trade shows and other events.
  • Traveling extensively across the region to engage with and support partners and key accounts.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in an Engineering, IT, or Sciences field is preferred.
  • 3-4 years work experience in similar technical role or account management role.
  • Language requirements; Native Swedish or other Nordic language, plus fluent English – additional Nordic and European languages are a plus.
  • A highly motivated and organized self-starter with excellent problem solving skills .
  • The ability to communicate professionally with customers, vendors and internal team colleagues both in writing and verbally.
  • Able to operate independently and show a commitment to meeting client & company deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a natural customer service orientation .
  • Ability to work flexible hours in order to collaborate with US-based business development team.
  • Experience in home & business Security systems, CCTV, Access Control, or IoT-related smart-home industry would be preferred.

Ideal Candidate
The Ideal candidate may already be:

  • Technical manager or support leader within a Security manufacturing or Installation business, with experience supporting hardware/software solutions sales to Installers or partners.
  • Account Manager in an IoT product supply or services business, as above.
  • A Security Installer/Engineer, or Customer Support person with the ability to present, sell and technically support smart-home security and IoT solutions to new and existing clients.
