The Sales Engineer works in conjunction with the sales and account management teams during the sales process as the product expert and key technical advisor helping our prospects understand the value of the BlueSnap products. The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users and establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle. The Sales Engineer must be organized, analytical, and be able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches of our product offering.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and delivering product demonstrations showcasing product capabilities
- Representing the product to customers and prospects as well as at external events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
- Responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs and RFPs
- Writing a solutions document to communicate how the prospect will utilize the BlueSnap platform
- Conveying customer requirements to the product management team
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of a proven track record in software sales support and knowledge of technology in the card-not-present payment industry
- Development of presentations and demonstrations
- Knowledge of APIs, POS terminals, POS Software
- Ability to manage many tasks concurrently including supporting multiple sales opportunities and salespeople at the same time
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills
- Efficiently work under pressure to meet deadlines and assigned tasks
- Ability to exhibit great creativity and resourcefulness
- Excellent communication skills especially in a customer setting
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with prospects/customers
- Ability to communicate insight and ideas effectively
- Self-confident and outgoing
- Ability to gather, understand and leverage market research
- Ability to listen to intended details attentively
- Some domestic and international travel may be required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
