Summary
The Sales Insights & Analytics Manager will oversee the development of analytical tools reports, and dashboards, around our sales data for sales leadership, sales operations, senior management, marketing, and individual sellers. The role will need to have a keen understanding of BI tools and how to connect different data sets. The Sales Insights & Analytics Manager will develop a deep understanding of how our data is connected and should enjoy extracting the insights from complex data sets to drive data-based decision making. This position will work closely with other data functions within the Food Group including demand planning, marketing, finance, customer service, and supply chain.
This position will be based at our Simplot Headquarters in Boise, Idaho.
Key Responsibilities
- Development of the analytical tool set used for commercial teams. The Manager will work closely with our internal IT teams to make sure the data platform is developed and maintained around our sales data. This position will also work on identifying, building and maintaining the analytical tool set used by our internal teams to extract data and view reports
- Leverage BI software to build reporting tools and dashboards used by sales, sales leadership, marketing, and sales operations. These dashboards deliver key metrics around our strategy KPIs, sales activities, and sales performance
- Deliver analytic insights to our sales and leadership teams. These will be both ad-hoc analysis requests and self-driven discoveries. Help deliver the story around the data to influence key business decision making
- Conversion of complex external data sets from customers into easily digestible reports, insights, and presentations
- Builds an effective team through recruitment, selection, coaching, development, training, and modeling effective management techniques. Establish accountability with and monitor progress of direct reports
- Train new sales, marketing and sales operations employees on how to use the analytical tools and dashboards.
- Ability to adapt quickly to the evolving needs of our sales teams and strategy
Typical Education
- Bachelor's Degree from 4 year college or university required
Relevant Experience
- 5+ years related experience and/or training required
- Understanding of foodservice preferred
- Business knowledge, data modeling & analysis required
- Excellent computer skills (Database, Excel, Word, and BI software)
- Salesforce CRM knowledge is preferred
- Excellent verbal and communication skills with the ability to train individuals and cross functional groups
- 10% travel (domestic and international)
