As a Sales Intern, you will be part of a team responsible for all customer facing, business generating activities. The Sales Internship is a part-time role (fall/spring academic term) completing projects designed to advance the company's value proposition and provide meaningful experience in the following areas: Customer Leads, Marketing, Department Management (campus sales), Sales/Revenue generation, Product Management, Industry Segment Management.
The internship is a position providing more in-depth projects, with even deeper learning opportunities into the same targeted areas. Students will learn about products, markets, sales, and marketing strategies, which are essential for a successful career in sales.
Interns will have an additional opportunity to learn broader business topics within ODP, Inc. which may include visits customer locations or events. Successful interns may be considered for full-time job offers upon graduation, depending upon company requirements and economic factors.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partner with the ODPBS Account Manager on marketing strategies to generate new leads and grow revenue within the account.
- Contact end users who both buy and do not buy from ODPBS to set up and attend in person sales appointments to provide marketing materials and samples to aid in selling ODPBS programs and services.
- Represent ODPBS during trade shows and lunch and learn events by providing samples, marketing materials and presenting ODPBS programs and services. Attend customer business reviews with the ODPBS Account Manager.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent education preferred
- Area of Study: Business
- No previous experience required
- Sales experience is a plus
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Basic computer skills and the ability to use computers and technology for information, and to access information necessary to complete the job.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent communication in English (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Interest in a career in sales and available to work 10-20 hours a week Monday through Friday on campus during the semester.
