Sales Manager
Job Description
As a Sales Manager focused on groups, SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, and Fraternal), weddings, and special events, you will play a vital role in driving revenue and promoting the success of our New York property in conjunction with our Director of Sales. The primary goal will be to generate new business, manage and coordinate all sales activities relating to group bookings, and execute successful special events to contribute to the growth and success of our Mint House property.Â
This role is required to be based in New York City. Â
AT MINT HOUSE YOU WILL- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities for purposes of maintaining and further developing Mint House’s sales pipeline
- Create a sales pipeline through proactive outreach to prospective clients utilizing a combination of networking at local industry events/conferences, client meetings, email campaigns and online marketing
- Communicate value proposition of Mint House’s portfolio as the preferred accommodation for short and extended stays that align with corporate client needs and requirements for stays and events
- Develop lasting, positive and productive relationships with Mint House’s current NYC clients - securing referrals and testimonials that lead to new business opportunities
- Managing and maintaining positive relationships with existing Corporate Accounts, TMCs, and Meeting Planners
- Continue to build a distinctive brand and strengthen relationships in our growing New York market
- Negotiate contract terms and create long term relationships for recurring bookings and loyaltyÂ
- Partner with Revenue Management to ensure our Business Transient and Group segment focus is competitiveÂ
- Participate in weekly meetings with the broader sales team to discuss brand positioning, forecasting, and all aspects of the sales process to build out Mint House’s footprint
- Responsible to meet and exceed revenue goals and continue to upsell and build a book of business for stays and group events in conjunction with the Regional Director of Sales
- Conduct sales tours, communicate with Operations departments on all relevant information to ensure seamless Group and Business Transient guest experience
- Work closely with Senior Corporate Partnerships Associate on managing Groups and Corporate Extended Stays
- This is a hybrid role with flexibility in onsite presence, however it is the responsibility of the Sales Manager to be onsite for site tours, meetings, and any events where necessary
- At least 3 years in a hospitality Sales Coordinator or Group Sales positionÂ
- Preferred: Track record of success in driving great revenue outcomes in NYC market at boutique hotels and non-traditional accommodations
- Notable experience to leverage network to identify account prospects that are an optimal fit for Mint House in order to increase revenue and further increase brand awareness with Mint House as the preferred accommodationÂ
- Proven track record of closing mid-size and large top tier travel brands
- Experience with OTA extranets (Expedia, Booking.com, Airbnb), OTA Insights, STR, Agency360, or open to learning new systems and sales enablement tools
- Experience in non-traditional hospitality setting and willingness to think outside the box on sales initiatives and ways to close business as compared to a traditional hotel business model
- Experience in managing own book of business and effective communicator to all relevant on-site departments to ensure seamless guest experience and happy clients

Compensation: $75,000 with a quarterly incentive planÂ
