In collaboration with its affiliate companies, Chariot Energy brings competitive prices to the market by leveraging its value chain from the manufacturing of the solar modules and development of utility scale solar plants to the delivery of renewable power to homes and businesses.

Chariot Energy’s mission is to bring solar electricity to all, without a premium.

Award-winning retail electricity provider, Chariot Energy, is looking for its next Sales Manager. Chariot is disrupting the retail energy market by bringing distributed energy solutions, such as rooftop solar and battery energy storage solutions, to the residential market as part of its retail energy offer, with wider spread Commercial & Industrial sales on the horizon. Chariot Energy is a subsidiary of 174 Power Global, a utility-scale solar and battery energy storage project developer. 174 Power Global, and Chariot, are members of Hanwha Group, a Global Fortune 500 company, which also includes QCells, the largest American-made solar panel manufacturer.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Chariot offers a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture. This person will play a key role in helping to build, and operate the indirect sales channel with a focus on building/maintaining relationships with Aggregators/Brokers/Consultants, as well as supporting internal directives with sister companies like QCells and their Solar Buy Back initiatives. We are looking for an upbeat and positive-natured problem-solver who is diligent, analytical and has at least two (2) years’ experience in an indirect sales or support role with a Retail Electric Provider. The person in this role will report to the Director of Sales. The position is currently hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days from home). We want someone who is accountable to themselves with a strong background in Microsoft Excel (Access/SQL experience a big plus, but not required) with high written & verbal communication skills. We need someone who makes data-based decisions, is competitive and sees obstacles as opportunities. Some travel will likely be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, Develop and Maintain Aggregator/Brokers/Consultant (ABC) relationships with the goal of presenting Chariot Energy as the best option for their commercial and residential customers.
  • Support for direct commercial sales (inbound) and work directly with customers to help manage their accounts (including signing contracts/renewals, Transfers of Service, etc.)
  • Develop sales strategies, objectives, and plans to meet revenue targets and increase market share within specified region.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data and key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to optimize sales performance.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences within the market. Conduct market research and analysis to identify new sales opportunities, target customer segments, and develop differentiated value propositions.
  • Assist as a point of contact with external partners for corporate initiatives to help drive goals and help them meet their KPIs (e.g. working directly with QCells with their residential Solar Buyback initiatives)
  • Prepare and present Chariot Energy bids to ABC’s and potentially direct sales customers, including but not limited to building pricing, presentations, running credit and creating/booking contracts.
  • Act as an ‘External Subject Matter Expert’: Working knowledge of the ‘ins and outs’ of deregulated energy agreements, and the ability to reliably field queries from third parties on Chariot’s products, services and agreements as an expert representative of Chariot.
  • Ability to ‘wear multiple hats’, and ‘think outside-of-the-box’ in a highly competitive and commodity-driven industry and not settle for the ‘status quo.’
  • Be highly organized, detail oriented and results driven with the ability to hit deadlines under pressure, while managing multiple projects.
  • Work cross-departmentally with Marketing, Supply, Operations, Legal and Accounting on a daily basis.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • Worked on a Retail Electric Provider’s Indirect Sales Desk.
  • Advanced/Expert level Microsoft Excel (VBA/Access/SQL a bonus but not required)
  • Direct experience working as a point of contact for ABCs.
  • Utilizing various pricing engine tools, bidding and contracting templates (experience writing contracts a plus, but not required)
  • Juggle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly, based on anticipated business results.
  • Ability to present and speak articulately to colleagues and leadership in a succinct manner.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking a plus!

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of indirect sales experience
  • A BA or BS degree (degree requirement may be waived with significant relevant work experience in this role type)

Attention external recruitment firms, we will not accept any unsolicited resumes at this time. Please do not contact any internal member of our company to discuss the position or to solicit candidates.
