Sales Manager, Small/Mid (Software & Content)
Job Description
The Sales Manager, Small/Mid (Software & Content) leads a team of Sales Reps in pursuit of their sales and revenue targets.
The key areas of responsibility are:
- Primary responsibility of leading the activities of a team of up to 12+ Frontline Sales reps attempting to attain their individual quotas by selling our Tax & Accounting Content and Software products to Small/Medium Accounting firms with 1 up to 30 associates
- Coordinates with other managers across the organization to ensure that the right resources are in place to hit goals
- Reports to the Sales Director
About Role
In this opportunity as Sales Manager, Small/Mid (Software & Content), you will:
- Responsible for attaining assigned Team Sales and Revenue targets
- Coach team to drive results, productivity, revenue growth and customer engagement
- Ability to engage across corporate functions (Customer Support, Commercial Excellence, AR/Collections, Product Management)
- Ensures the team has the pipeline that is required to achieve future month Sales and Revenue targets
- Performance manages the team for increased sales results and ensuring that activity levels by the Sales Reps on the team are at acceptable levels
- Ensures team is properly using the CRM to record activity and status of firms within their territory by ensuring team is using sales efficiency tools and best practices
- Focus on their team's skills and abilities, ensures that they are actively coaching reps on a day-to-day basis and that any skills gaps within their team are identified and addressed
- Timely compliance with any required internal paperwork and understands internal policies relating to employee expectations
- Shows initiative and looks for efficiency gains within their team
- Handles customer escalations as necessary
- Shares best practices with other sales leaders so that the entire organization is constantly improving
- Reviews orders submitted by team for accuracy and compliance with pricing and promo strategies
- Looks for opportunities to increase employee engagement through team contests and challenges
- Responsible for accurate forecasting and oversees team compliance with promos and pricing
- Continuously educating team to ensure industry and product knowledge is constantly improving
About You
You're a fit for the role of Sales Manager, Small/Mid (Software & Content) if your background includes:
- 5+ years experience leading a Sales Team is required
- Track record of success selling software to Tax Professionals is preferred
- Planning and goal setting with individual reps, territory management experience, relationship building skills, selling skills (identity, develop and articulate a complex proposition/consultative selling), strong negotiation skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to use a variety of technology with a high level of proficiency
- Strong understanding of Tax Professional customers and their business model and workflows preferred
- Problem solving - ability to understand and solve client needs
- Reporting on market and competitor activities
- Presentations across internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
- Ensure key metrics are tracked such as active users, user logon, usage metric and overall retention rates
