About this role
Carrier Commercial has an opportunity in Charlotte, NC, for a high potential, results-oriented Sales Operations Specialist to provide operational support to the Strategic Accounts and Export sales channels. This candidate will develop, consolidate, analyze and report both actual and forecasted financial data used to measure sales and financial performance vs. plan and prior year and actively support the development of the annual business plan. They will be responsible for preparing a number of month-end closing entries and assist the leadership team with preparing presentations to senior management.
The position requires flexibility as well as the ability to work with large amounts of data and draw directional conclusions from that data. Candidate must possess strong analytical skills and sound business judgment, specifically regarding sales and customer-facing processes. The selected candidate must be comfortable communicating to all levels of the organization and able to develop positive relationships in order to gather information and influence decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Sales and Senior Management with Sales Forecasting, Pipeline Analysis, and analyzing New Order and Backlog Reports.
- Develop, standardize, and measure diagnostic and predictive KPI's and sales tools to support the sales process.
- Provide financial and operational support to Strategic Accounts and Export sales channels
- Support the month-end close process through analysis, and reporting
- Develop, consolidate, analyze and report month-end actuals for channel and product sales, orders, backlog, and pipeline
- Support incentive reporting process through collection of sales information
- Design annual sales plan by customer and sales rep for incentive purposes
- Prepare monthly presentations for Sr. Management communications.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and audit support upon request
- Work on a variety of projects, primarily relating to systems, reporting, and process improvement
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Responsible for providing financial and operational support to the sales channel through reporting and various ad-hoc analysis
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports and presentations for management
- Fully developed professional able to work independently without direct daily guidance.
- Has in-depth financial knowledge and communication skills required for the discipline and role
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4+ years of experience in sales operations, finance, or accounting function
- 2+ years of experience with monthly reporting metrics, data analysis & data manipulation
Preferred Qualifications
Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:
- MA/MS/MBA degree with 2+ years of experience
- Manufacturing operations environment preferred.
- Ability to work with, consolidate and present large amounts of data
- Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Advanced level skills with SAP, SFDC, Business Intelligence, and Power BI knowledge preferred.
- Proven capability to communicate professionally in written and verbal format
- Proven capability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with customers (internal and external) required
- HVAC industry knowledge a plus
