Fostering strong internal company relationships to support market development plans will also be a key requirement in this role.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform market research and analysis to develop a strategic sales roadmap in keeping with the product line's global strategic business plan.
- Help to plan sales campaigns to increase market share.
- Be a resource of market advice and customer insight.
- Accountable for achieving budgeted sales targets as related to the product line.
- Assist the business unit to develop fiscal annual forecasts which support the company's financial plan.
- Accountable for establishing and growing strategic customer relationships in the Western Hemisphere.
- Responsible for qualifying products and meeting specifications with regards to individual customer needs.
- Make direct sales calls (phone or physical) and actively pursue customer projects while also participating in joint sales calls with other company sales personnel to promote Axelson and to maintain good customer relations.
- Seek out and negotiate master service agreements to support the product line's installed base.
- Track and report customer activity, sales opportunities, and competitor activity.
- Provide sales and product training to customers at their office or at seminars and trade shows.
- Seek out the appropriate contacts in an organisation.
- Generate leads with prospective new customers.
- Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
- Drive promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department.
- Seek ways of improving the way the business operates.
- Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate.
- Ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained.
- Regular travel required for client meetings.
- Act as the internal 'voice of customer' to align business performance to client needs.
- Participate in training as required to perform your role.
- Will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, NOV's Quality Program, company policies, and HS&E regulations.

Desirable Experience:
- Experience in a similar position.

- Experience of working in product sales.

- Experience of field working with surface safety products.
Working knowledge of many of the following;
- Product sales experience.
- The Energy Industry and operations, specifically wellheads and surface safety products
- Commercial evaluation of product development.
- Customer focused project engineering.
Skills, training or special knowledge
- Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Working knowledge of ISO9001 and API Q1.
- Working knowledge of, PLM/PDM and CRM data systems.

Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are always in full compliance.

Training
Participate in training where required.
