Job Description

We are looking for a talented and dedicated sales professional. This key role is responsible for developing, securing and maintaining business relationships with exhibitors and sponsors in the clean energy industry. Primarily an outbound sales role, you will be responsible for closing new business (exhibitors and demand generation) in the international market for Intersolar North America and the domestic market for the Smart Energy Decisions portfolio. Sales Representative must also be able to communicate the terms of the sales contract and secure exhibitor/sponsor fees as needed. In addition to superior client customer services, Sales Representative must track account transactions in Salesforce. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize workloads, while keeping abreast of current market trends and industry news. Active collaboration with the entire team is also essential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and/or exceed sales goals through sales of exhibit space, digital advertising, and ancillary/sponsorships.
  • Provide consistent follow up and superior customer service by maintaining strong business relationships with customers
  • Active daily prospecting to perspective customers via phone calls, e-mail and social channels
  • Keep abreast of current market and sales trends and identify and qualify new prospects to support territory growth
  • Track sales activity for exhibit space, digital advertising, sponsorships, account changes and data entry in CRM
  • Actively collaborate with the rest of the sales team as well as marketing and editorial departments and central teams
  • Capture and communicate customer needs to the team as appropriate
  • Attend competitive and industry events

Knowledge: Previous sales experience, previous exhibit and/or digital sales and/or digital marketing experience; Business, Communication, or Management Degree and related work experience

Skills: : Competency in use of CRM, MS Office proficiency, excellent written and oral communications skill, strong time management skills, public speaking/presenting experience a plus

Abilities: Sales prospecting and qualifying, effective relationship building and management, strategic selling & closing strategies, articulating value proposition, listening skills, knowledge of marketing tools, ability to set and achieve goals and stay motivated.

Other Qualifications: High level of energy, outgoing personality, self-motivated, quick learner, and deadline driven. Results oriented with demonstrated history of success selling within a B2B environment. Experience in event sales is a strong plus.
