We have an opportunity for a remote Sales Representative on our AMA Insurance team.

As a Sales Representative you will represent the American Medical Association/AMA Insurance Agency in thedistribution of insurance products through key partners in our brokeragemarketing sales model. Provide regional fieldsales support, support distribution channels and partners, provide routinereporting, follow required field sales processes, and help support marketing programswithin the channel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage distribution effortsfor key insurance products

  • Contributes to the sales and revenue results from assigned accounts, groups and/or regions of the country.
  • Provide support to existing book of business by building strong customer relationships with physicians, groups and institutions.
  • Identify and support direct sales opportunities within the channel.
  • Identify and support third-party (i.e., brokers) sales opportunities within the channel. Develop, motivate, and orchestrate these third-party resources to optimize sales coverage and revenue production.
  • Secure and present appropriate proposals to all decision-maker(s) within the channel, including direct clients and third parties.
  • Provide administrative sales support to all clients and third parties.
  • Share insight with AMAI's Marketing Team to support various marketing initiatives to help promote and sell the products.
  • Track appropriate metrics to monitor performance and provide timely updates to management. Develop action plans to counter any significant variances against metrics that are underperforming.
  • Support otherAgency-related initiatives as needed; work with AMAIand/or AMA internal and external stakeholders on various initiatives from timeto time, as needed or requested

Create cross-selling opportunities for other Agency products &services

  • Help identify and support the sale of other AMAI products to physicians, groups, and institutions, as applicable.
  • Work through third-party brokers and other key partners to help identify opportunities to market and sell other AMAI products.
  • Provide distribution support & coordination for related cross-selling opportunities.
  • Track appropriate metrics to monitor performance and provide updates to management as requested or needed.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in management or business administration required.
  2. Minimum of 3+ years of successful experience in a selling environment; or other proven sales experience within the physician market.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge with life, disability, long-term care and/or liability insurance products desirable.
  4. Ability to thrive in an environment with considerable autonomy is extremely important.
  5. Must become licensed and appointed in accordance with insurance laws and regulations in the state(s) of operation as defined by the Agency.
  6. Strong listening skills are required and excellent relationship management skills.
  7. Experience with consultative problem-solving skills and position solutions in a manner that each party feels fairness has been achieved (i.e., on items such as price, terms, support, and timeliness).
  8. Able to influence others to gain support, collaboration, and commitment from partners, colleagues, and managers; and provide team members with information and lead-time needed to be effective.
  9. Excellent written and verbal skills required. Must demonstrate the ability to present solutions in an engaging manner and have the ability to convey business concepts in a concise and compelling written format.
  10. Solid financial acumen required to understand impact of decisions made on behalf of Agency including the ability to creatively use financial tools, models, and concepts.
  11. Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  12. Travel required.
  13. AMA's safety and policy protocols require proof of full vaccination against COVID19 for employment at AMA (including booster when eligible). Employees may apply for a religious or medical exemption from getting the vaccine.
