Sales Representative
Job Description
Purpose/Job Function:
The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for cold calling and closing leads through daily sales engagement. This role will work closely with assigned sales teammates in respective territories. This role is responsible to uphold our core values of ethics, engagement, and excellence.
Essential Functions:
- Achieve or exceed monthly sales goals
- Utilize Salesforce to access leads and document activity
- Contact decision makers at prospective clients through telephone calls & email
- Qualify leads for shipping cost, modes, and frequency
- Make sales discovery calls for qualified leads
- Participate in webinars, conferences, and other continuing education opportunities to learn best practices, improve skills and gain industry insight
- Become proficient with Salesforce.com
- Direct and lead by example and generate a positive morale within the team
- Perform other tasks as assigned by manager
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Ability to follow a sales methodology to achieve company sales goals
- Personable, especially through verbal and written communication
- Driven and tenacious with the ability to be professionally persistent and persuasive
- Self-motivated and highly organized
- Team player yet capable of working independently
- MS Office (Outlook & Word) intermediate skills are required
Education/Experience:
- Minimum 0-2 years of sales, customer service, call center or transportation experience
- Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce preferred
