JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for managing daily operation of the Sales Support function. The Sales Support Manager leads and oversees a team of Sales Coordinators in order management from quote to delivery; supporting the sales force, sales management and achieving market objectives. They work in tandem with Regional Sales Managers to best position our sales force in the marketplace and maintain a competitive advantage.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promoting a professional image of the company
- Providing a strong team/teamwork atmosphere within the department and with all Carolina Handling departments, Raymond, the Dealer network and our Suppliers
- Promotion and support of marketing programs
- Cration and improvement of sales support processes
- Assist Regional Sales Managers with communications relating to Sales Representatives
- Ensure accurate and timely turnaround of all information submitted by Sales Representatives
- Review and analyze monthly management reports, including but not limited to: rolling forecasts, projected booking/billings, commissions, gross profit analysis, order accuracy, invoicing accuracy, leasing DSO, financial and key metric reporting
- Serve as point of escalation to resolve complex customer questions, complaints or concerns
- Ensure GP opportunities are maximized by creative merchandising strategies and outside the box thinking
- Responsible for associate growth and development; goals, objectives and career paths. Evaluate associate training needs, job performance and perform associate appraisals
- Monitor quality measurements and drive continuous process improvements to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Review and enforce department and company policies and procedures
- Work with Raymond Factory and Leasing Company on product inquiries, issues, financial merchandising
- Actively analyze and pursue improved market and financial performance
- Work in a team atmosphere toward the goals and objectives of your team, department and company
- Attend regional sales meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience strongly preferred
- Two or more years of experience in Sales or Operations Management
- Ability to effectively monitor, lead, coach and develop personnel
- Exhibited leadership skills with ability to self-motivate and motivate others
- Ability to communicate effectively with Management, Associates and customers; written, verbal and listening
- Strong desire to exceed customer needs
- Ability to create and improve processes
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Project a courteous and professional image at all times
- Must exhibit detail orientation, with a strong sense of urgency
- Must be a self-starter and team oriented
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong math aptitude
- Must be able to readily accept challenges
LEVEL OF AUTHORITY
Within company and departmental guidelines preset by respective manager.
WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to work in a high-paced environment with a high volume of information flow and frequently changing priorities. The Associate is occasionally exposed to a machine shop environment and hazards from equipment movement. Position requires frequent customer interface and occasional overnight travel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The Associate frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The Associate is occasionally required to stand for moderate amounts of time. The Associate must have good articulation and voice control. Additionally, the Associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
