What you'll do:

  • Reviews and edits new orders to ensure compliance to corporate policies and procedures as well as verifying pricing and delivery requirements.
  • Communicates with customers, sales personnel, production and shipping department regarding unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, product availability and any additional information required.
  • Records and/or files copy of orders received.
  • Monitors orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.
  • Computes any relevant discount and shipping charges as required.
  • Receives, logs and researches customer complaints.
  • Confers with production, shipping, warehouse, and common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
  • Answers questions from customers or individuals on product specifications or directs them to the person that is able to assist them.
  • Ensures that all quotes flow through the quoting process in a timely manner.
  • Maintains customer information data base.
  • Responsible for communicating price changes to customers and sales reps in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for researching and processing returns, claims and or deductions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you have:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required. Some college in business-related field or CCSS (Certified Customer Service Specialist) preferred
  • Basic computer skills in word-processing and spreadsheet applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel AS400 and Inet
  • Good voice quality that is conversational and professional.
  • Accurate typing ability (minimum 45 wpm) and data entry skills
