Sales Tax Analyst will focus on mainly on sales tax exemption certificates. The position will require interaction with the account receivable group as well as other business groups within DXP. The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical skills, motivation and confidence to independently address issues and work with third party service providers. This role will report to the Tax Supervisor.

Responsibilities of the Sales Tax Analyst include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain sales tax exemption certificate database for 10,000+ certificates
• Assist with certificates on CertCapture/ECM software operation and maintenance
• Conduct periodic updates for expired sales tax certification
• Assist with sales tax audits
• Respond to internal and external sales tax questions
• Assist internal and external for proper completion of state and location exemption forms
• Research tax issues as directed
• Maintain DXP exemption certificates for vendor purchases
• Provide taxability guidance to other business groups within DXP
• Assist internal and external customers with proper completion of state and local forms
• Work with third party advisors
• Examine sales invoices and exemption certificates for requested tax adjustment
• Resolve disputes and inquiries in a timely manner
• Assist with other projects as necessary

Qualifications of the Sales Tax Analyst include but are not limited to:

• 3 years of experience with corporate sales tax, audits, tax adjustments and state & local forms
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills and strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize work and perform multiple tasks/responsibilities simultaneously
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently
• Experience with Avalara and CertCapture/ECM is a plus but not required
• Experience with Salesforce is a plus but not required
• Experience with General Ledger reconciliation of sales tax collected a plus
• Ability to utilize critical thinking and analytical skills to solve complex tax issues
• Hardworking; willing to get into the details
