Job Description

Discovery Education is looking for a talented Salesforce Developer to design world-class solutions for our evolving CRM requirements. As a Salesforce Developer, you will own the development lifecycle and will be responsible for designing and developing customized solutions within the Salesforce Lightning org. This will involve meeting with business leaders and project managers, analyzing project objectives, coding new Salesforce APEX solutions, creating custom Flows, managing third-party integrations, and troubleshooting application errors.

To ensure success as a Salesforce Developer, you should have extensive experience working with Salesforce CRM platforms, application development skills, and the ability to solve complex software problems. Ultimately, a top-class Salesforce Developer can create dynamic and scalable Salesforce solutions that perfectly meet the evolving needs of the company.

This role will sit in our Charlotte HQs with a hybrid schedule.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for configuration, design, functionality, and support of the Salesforce.com platform and Salesforce CPQ (SteelBrick).
  • Own the development and deployment lifecycle. Establish and implement change control and best practices with regards to system maintenance, configuration, development, testing, data integrity, etc.
  • Optimize system architecture and business processes to continually reflect the growth and scale of the business via account hierarchies, page layouts, workflow and validation rules, approval processes, installed packages, flows, and process builders.
  • Optimize and customize Salesforce CPQ (SteelBrick) system solutions involving complex product bundles, pricing rules, approval rules, product rules, document templates, and all other CPQ features.
  • Develop Apex (classes and triggers), Lightning Components, Visualforce, and "clicks-not-code" solutions to extend Salesforce to support business requirements.
  • Test the stability and functionality of the application.
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the application software and its data.
  • Resolve ticket escalations for end user issues and errors.
  • Integrate third-party systems and applications.
  • Review custom developed code and making necessary technical adjustments.
  • Write documents and provide technical training for the Sales Enablement team.
  • Support the Salesforce Administrator as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of Salesforce development experience.
  • Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrate a problem solving/ solution-oriented approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that foster teamwork, build confidence and support for one's ideas.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Computer science or related field preferred.
  • Legal right to work in the United States.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I Certification.
  • Salesforce Lightning and CPQ experience a must.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing custom objects, flows, validation rules, triggers, and data loads in SFDC.
  • Experience implementing and developing in Apex, Visualforce, Javascript, and SOQL/SQL.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of relational databases, data modelling, and ETL tools.
  • Experience with web services (REST & SOAP, JSON & XML, etc.)
  • Developing solutions with best practice front of mind.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications from non-technical requirements.
  • Ability to find solutions where there isn't a clear one in sight.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a variety of audiences, including senior management, stakeholders, and data scientists.
  • A proactive attitude to Salesforce enhancements.
  • A good work ethic, and willingness to help where needed.

Preferred Knowledge & Skills

  • Education industry experience a plus.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform CPQ Specialist.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II Certification.
  • Salesforce Platform App Builder Certification
  • Salesforce Lightning Component Framework Specialist (Trailhead Super Badge)
  • Salesforce Lightning Experience Specialist (Trailhead Super Badge)
