What you’ll do:
As the Salesforce Development Supervisor at Pinnacol, you play a key part in realizing our mission to provide customers with tools they love. Leverage your passion for technology and Salesforce development best practices to develop amazing products for our customers and help define the vision, capabilities, and roadmap for our systems. You will lead a team of like-minded individuals by working with, directing, and supporting their efforts to deliver valuable products for our customers. This role has a wide variety of responsibilities, and in this startup environment you can expect this role to grow and evolve - sometimes on a daily basis.
What you can expect:
Software Development (60%)
- Leads projects through software development life cycle ensuring timely completion and effective communication to maximize value created and minimize costs
- Pushes teams to improve processes, procedures, and team make up when necessaryÂ
- Provides feedback to other developers, team members, and leadership on ways to improve and continues to help move the team forward with those changesÂ
- Proactively embodies high performance and pushes team members to higher standards through their example
- Write software that satisfies business requirements and follows applicable coding standards
- Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specification, standards and programming
- Be able to individually contribute to a team with a focus on learning the processes, patterns, and standards in place
- Maintain code to enhance functionality, improve efficiency and replace malfunctioning or obsolete code, following team standards, defined patterns and industry standards
- Identify system or program problems efficiently and effectively and propose pragmatic solutions.Â
- Test programs to ensure they meet business requirements and functionally work well, following testing standards
- Participate in deployment and configuration management processes as necessary
- Document code in a way that can be understood by other Software Engineers
- Create design documents that satisfy business requirements, follow adopted methodologies and lead to efficient, easy to maintain, and reliable systems, which may require the use of unfamiliar languages and technologyÂ
- Demonstrate and standardize solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
Technology Leadership (40%)
- Responsible for working with domain architects to ensure that we are understanding and making the best decisions around our technologyÂ
- Responsible for all management functions with direct reports including hiring, performance management, timekeeping, expense report approval, etc. for the front end development team
- Provide leadership, direction, coaching and development of promoting teamwork and cooperation within team and throughout the organization
Additional responsibilities:
- Expand and improve personal knowledge in the area of software development best practices
- Communicate and partner effectively with a variety of team members across the IS team
- Work with PAM to thoroughly test and sign off on system changes and enhancements, and proactively identify potential problems in our Salesforce Platform
- Lead and facilitate code reviews with team members and encourage positive feedback while maintaining agreed upon development standards
- Perform other duties as assigned

What you need to be successful:
- Strong understanding of software development cycle, standard and best practices in order to shape coding methodologies and best practices and elevate the knowledge and skill set of the team.
- Must possess excellent data analysis, debugging, testing and problem-solving abilities
- Must be proficient in our Salesforce instances and all systems relatedÂ
- Ability to explore large, poorly understood problems and determine the correct course of action
- Developing Others: Ability to mentor others through constructively challenging assumptions and sharing knowledge with more junior engineers to foster collaboration and innovative development solutionsÂ

The compensation amount for this role is targeted at $150,600-$160,600. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including your experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
