General Summary

The Salesforce Engineer works with the Business Systems Team and directly with end-user groups and management to define needs and delivery solutions. This position will collaborate closely with other team members and developers to ensure system functionality aligns with business requirements and compliance standards.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with business units to create and present the business case for new requests
  • Lead and facilitate cross departmental teams to transform business requirements into user and functional requirements
  • Write and maintain software requirements specifications that are clear, complete and executable
  • Ensure that requirements are understood by development team and perform functional analysis when detail is needed
  • Verify technical design specifications meet user requirements
  • Develop project artifacts, to include requirements, design, and data flows
  • Create user scenarios for user acceptance testing
  • Over time, develop deep domain knowledge on key applications and business data
  • Works with the Project Manager to determine project task estimates, deadlines and deliverables, simultaneously working on multiple projects
  • Perform gap analysis and define gap closure strategies
  • Provide training as needed on functional changes


Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business and/or equivalent industry experience.


Experience

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in an IT environment required
  • Enterprise IT experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written English language fluency skills
  • Working knowledge of software development methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Experience with reports, dashboards, and an understanding of data analysis
  • Salesforce experience - flows, formulas, custom objects and fields
  • Salesforce Admin Certification is a plus

  • Strong initiative and the ability to quickly learn and apply skills
  • Superior written, listening and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users
  • Must be able to interact and develop rapport with others
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and end users
  • Ability to define problems, assemble and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and make recommendations
  • Must be highly analytical and detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and underlying principles
  • Proficiency in SQL is preferred


Other:

  • Position may require working weekend and after general business hours.

  • Sitting for prolonged periods of time
