The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator is a subject matter expert that is pivotal in growing the capabilities of the marketing department at First Command. This individual will leverage a deep understanding of the capabilities and functionality of Salesforce Marketing Cloud to lead the development of new initiatives, enhancements, operations, and production support for the platform. This role is a member of First Command's customer centricity team, which works to use data to better understand our clients and improve their experience. What will you be doing?

  • Lead the implementation of the Marketing Cloud within the marketing team, working with internal stakeholders and external agency partners
  • Work with business stakeholders to deploy all marketing cloud campaigns and journeys, including emails, landing pages, text messages, and distributed marketing
  • All user setup/deactivation, roles, permissions, and business units
  • Oversee and maintain marketing cloud connect, including all data extensions, contacts configuration, and FTP work
  • Design and delivery of solutions in Email Studio, Journey Builder, Marketing Cloud Intelligence and mobile studio
  • Design and/or build integrations between Marketing Cloud and 3rd party applications or data sources,
  • Conduct marketing team user training and actively partner with training teams to promote user adoption of Marketing Cloud

What skills/qualifications do you need?

Education

  • Bachelor's degree

Work Experience

  • 1-5 years experience working hands-on in Marketing Cloud, ideally involving integrations with Salesforce core and other platforms.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Salesforce marketing cloud administrator certification preferred
  • Ability to work with clients to design customer journeys, and associated data models.
  • Extensive experience with Marketing Cloud Studios & Builders, most importantly Email Studio, Content Builder, Journey Builder and Automation Studio, and ideally also Cloud Pages and Mobile Studio.
  • Strong understanding of email marketing, including best practices, IP warming, reporting, and UTM parameters
  • Understanding of API's and third-party integrations
  • Clear communication skills to make complex technical matters simple when communicating with non-technical stakeholders and client executives
  • Ability to collaborate within and across teams

Desirable/bonus:

  • Desirable experience: Marketing Cloud Intelligence, Informatica/Jitterbit/Talend/Dell Boomi, Interaction Studio, Commerce Cloud, Salesforce CDP, Advertising Studio, Social Studio
  • Experience with Google Analytics (360), PPC Advertising
  • In-depth experience with Salesforce and marketing reporting, including lead generation,
  • Active in the Salesforce Trailblazer community
  • Knowledge of 1+ of the 6 programming languages in SFMC: AMPScript, HTML and CSS, SSJS and/or JavaScript, SQL (andQuery Studio experience) or Guide Template Language)
